Being a good steward of my resources (3): Body

1. Your body is your responsibility, but is not your own.

1 Corinthians 6:19 -20

19 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own, 20 You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.

Romans 12:1 1 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

2. Your actions impact everybody else.

1 Corinthians 3:16

16 Do you not discern and understand that you [the whole church at Corinth] are God’s temple (His sanctuary), and that God’s Spirit has His permanent dwelling in you [to be at home in you, collectively as a church and also individually]?

3. Present your body as an instrument of right living.

Romans 6:13

13 Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness.

4. Take enough time to rest

Mark 6:31

31 And He said to them, [As for you] come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while--for many were [continually] coming and going, and they had not even leisure enough to eat.

5. Do not make physical health an idol

1 Timothy 4:8

8 For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come

Give Others Room to Grow

Don’t fight people over their inability to use Kingdom Intelligence. Preposterous commentary and interpretations of how things work sometimes turn out to be correct. Don’t get caught up in emotionally charged discussions that are leading nowhere. Make peace a prime goal even when you discuss significant matters and allow others the opportunity to grow into the knowledge and intelligence that God has afforded them.

Survival is NOT a way of LIFE!

It is important that we don’t become so familiar with mediocrity that we protect, defend and find comfort in it. Survival instincts should never become a way of life for us. We should instead embrace and uphold faith pursuits in the only one who is failsafe.
